Fox Valley Music Foundation & Delmark Records Present 2nd Masterclass Series Event

The Fox Valley Music Foundation (FVMF) is proud to present the second installment of the Delmark Records & FVMF Masterclass Series, on Saturday, November 8! This immersive musical celebration, funded by a Music In Action grantfrom Live Music Society, brings together the power of live blues, music education, and Chicago music history — all under one roof at The Venue, in downtown Aurora.

Blues lovers of all ages can soak in the sounds of DJ Julia Miller, who will spin rare and classic Delmark Records vinyl throughout the day. Julia’s sets will showcase the legendary label’s deep blues and jazz catalog, offering a musical journey through Chicago’s vibrant sonic history.

Blues legends Bob Stroger and Billy Flynn bring a lifetime of experience to the stage and classroom alike — and the Masterclass session during this event is a rare chance to learn directly from two of the genre’s most respected musicians. Their stories, skills, and soulful insights make this an unforgettable opportunity for not just budding musicians, but for anyone who loves the blues.

The evening concert will feature special performances from:
🎸 Knott Us Band – Dubbed “A young band with an old soul”, this dynamic performance band is comprised of multicultural pre-teens and teens who have wowed audiences all over the great state of Illinois.
🎤 Bob Stroger & Friends – This group features the 94-year-old singer, bass player and band leader surrounded by some of his most cherished blues colleagues, musicals sons and grandsons.  Stroger’s ‘Friends’ includes guitarist extraordinaire Billy Flynn, superstar pianist Johnny Iguana and the electrifying drummer Brian T. All of them are Delmark All-Star Band members and living proof of the artistry and magic of Chicago Blues..
