Fox Valley Music Foundation’s The Venue Receives “Live Independent” Certification

Aurora, IL – Fox Valley Music Foundation’s The Venue is pleased to announce that it has officially received the “Live Independent” certification from the National Independent Venues Association (NIVA). The new certification recognizes The Venue’s commitment to delivering top-quality music experiences while supporting fair practices and maintaining independence from multinational conglomerates across the industry.

The ”Live Independent” certification program, developed by NIVA, is a groundbreaking initiative that elevates and safeguards independent venues, promoters, and festivals nationwide. With support from the industry-leading live event discovery platform, Bandsintown, the program enhances the quality and sustainability of independent live entertainment, while preserving the authentic and unique spirit that defines cultural and community hubs like The Venue.

“The Live Independent certification is a great idea for the industry and for us,” says Karen Fouts, Executive Director of the Fox Valley Music Foundation, which operates The Venue. “This program allows us to enhance our identity as a community-driven, artist-supporting, and authentic music space, which will benefit both our brand and the community we serve.”
