Fox Valley Music Foundation and The Venue are thrilled to announce an upcoming concert featuring Cesar Rosas and The Chi-Town Playboys on July 13. The Chi-Town Playboys are a group of prominent Chicago musicians, fronted by Rosas, a founding member of the iconic band Los Lobos. This highly anticipated event promises an unforgettable evening of blues music and entertainment. Their performances are highly regarded, described as "transcendent" and creating a "magical" atmosphere.
The evening will start with legendary Chicago bluesman and Delmark Records recording artist, Jimmy Burns. Born in the Mississippi Delta, Burns is known for his musical blend of traditional Delta blues, Chicago blues, and soulful R&B, showcasing both his guitar prowess and powerful vocals. Burn’s performance is a lead-in to the Delmark Days event at The Venue, which will feature guest DJs spinning releases from Delmark Records, a Master Class, and an evening show with Delmark artist Demetria Taylor. This event, set for July 19, is funded in part by a grant from Live Music Society.
