‘Jazz Sessions’ Brings Music and Community Together at The Venue
9/7/25, 5:00 PM
Monthly 'Jazz Sessions' series returns!

7-Sept-2025 -- Calling all jazz music fans: a new season of Jazz Sessions kicks off on Thursday, September 11, at The Venue in downtown Aurora! The first set of each show starts at 8:00 pm and will feature a variety of unique and improvisational jazz music from Jonny Gifford and his band. Musicians wishing to perform will then be slotted into the jam session performance during the second set of the show.
The idea behind Jazz Sessions is to create an inclusive space where professional musicians, aspiring players, and music lovers can come together in one shared experience. The audience gets access to high-quality live jazz, and the evening also fosters mentorship, creativity, and cultural exchange through the open jam format. By encouraging participation, the program helps build confidence for emerging artists, strengthens connections across generations of musicians, and nurtures Aurora’s identity as a vibrant hub for live music.
Jazz Sessions takes place on the 2ndThursday of every month, beginning at 8:00 pm. Admission is FREE for musicians who attend this event and bring an instrument and join the Jazz Jam Session in the second set, which is curated by Jonny Gifford. If you wish to perform, please sign up on the list upon arrival at The Venue. Audience tickets are a budget-friendly $5!
